Liturgy of the Word for Children (LOWC)

What is it?

It is the Liturgy of the Word suitably adapted to make it relevant to the lives and experiences of young children.  It give them the opportunity to understand the Gospel message and participate in the Eucharistic celebration at their own level.

Children age 3 up to 2nd grade are welcome to participate.  (Those that have made their First Communion are encouraged to remain at Mass).

When is it?

It takes place on Sunday during the 10:30 a.m. Mass.  hildren should be present at the beginning of the Mass until the end of the Introductory Rites, when the priest invites them to leave for their own celebration.  They are brought back into the assembly immediately after the Prayers of the Faithful.

They do not meet during the summer months.

Who will lead LOWC?

Parents or other adults or High School students often lead this.  All that is required to lead is a desire to help children take a more active part in the celebration of their faith.  All materials are prepared in advance and sent to you on your assigned weekend.

If you are interested in being part of this great ministry or would like more informaiton,  please contact Deb at The pastoral office.

LOWC will not meet on October 23, 2011
